Drives your RIG. Replaces your amplifier and speaker.

If you're a fan of analog sound and have your pedalboard set up for a tube amp, you definitely find yourself playing gigs where such heavy gear is simply impractical. Weight, size, transport – all of these can be an issue. In such situations, help comes from RIG DRIVER.

What is RIG DRIVER?
RIG DRIVER is an analog guitar preamp that replaces the amplifier and speaker in situations where stage conditions do not allow for the use of a traditional setup or when you need a lighter alternative to play with your own pedalboard – without a speaker and without an amplifier.

It isa preamp and analog cabinet simulator in one device. You connect the signal from your pedalboard to it just like you would to an amplifier, and the output from RIG DRIVER goes directly to a mixer, active FRFR speaker, or standard active PA speaker. You can also use this preamp separately by connecting your guitar directly to it.

Analog cabinet simulation

To maintain your gear's sound without a guitar cabinet, RIG DRIVER sends a signal with an analog cabinet simulation to the mixer. The simulation module allows you to choose:

  • speaker type: Celestion V30 or Creamback G12M,

  • cabinet type: large 2×12" or small combo 1×12",

  • microphone position – adjustable with a potentiometer (acting like a simple EQ).

This way, you can achieve a natural guitar sound without using digital CAB SIMs.

Tone shaping and character

RIG DRIVER features classic tone shaping – like most guitar amplifiers – as well as GAIN control. You can set both CLEAN, and distorted, depending on the effects in the pedalboard.

Outputs and additional functions

The device is equipped with:

  • an effects loop (EFX-LOOP),

  • a headphone amplifier,

  • two signal outputs: balanced XLR/Di-Box and standard JACK.

This allows you to split the signal into two paths – for example, XLR to the mixer and JACK to the FRFR speaker or headphones.

JACK output – signal with simulation and DRY

The JACK output has two signal sections:

  • TIP (mono jack) – signal with cabinet simulation,

  • RING (stereo jack) – DRY signal, without simulation.

The DRY signal can be used to connect an external cabinet simulator or for DI recordings.

Fully analog construction

RIG DRIVER is completely analog, providing excellent dynamics and a natural response to articulation. The preamp is transparent – it does not impose its own character – making it suitable for any musical style.
Analog sound deserves an analog front-end. That's why we designed RIG DRIVER.

SPECIFICATION:

  • LEVEL – volume control

  • GAIN– adjusts the saturation and dynamic response of the input signal

  • BOOST GAIN – boosts input sensitivity and increases sound richness

  • BASS – low tone adjustment

  • LOW CUT– low frequency reduction

  • MIDDLE – mid tone adjustment

  • MID-RANGE – changes the range of mid tone adjustment.

  • TREBLE – high tone adjustment

  • DARK/BRIGHT -switchable high tone correction

  • Built-in headphone amplifier

  • FRFR CAB/PHONES – switch that sets the output function of the jack socket.
We have two options: output for connecting an active FRFR speaker or headphones.

  • CAB SIM MODULE– analog speaker cabinet simulation module. Ability to choose speaker type, cabinet size, and adjust microphone position.

  • XLR / Di-Box line output– balanced with speaker cabinet simulation

  • EFX-LOOP - effects loop for connecting effects in the preamp path.

  • Power supply: 9-15V with auto-polarization allowing the use of power supplies with positive or negative polarity. A 15V power supply provides greater dynamics (headroom).

  • DC CONVERTER: built-in voltage converter raising the effect power to 30V to ensure high sound dynamics.

  • Dimensions: (H x W x D) 60 x 100 x 130mm

  • Weight: 0.5kg/net
