Taurus TM On Board preamps are designed for installation in a bass guitar. It is the modular design for easy configuration of controllers. The Integral version uses stacked potentiometers that operate two functions with staked knobs, saving space for mounting a preamp in the guitar.
Installation is very simple, it only requires soldering the pickups and power supply. The modules are connected to each other with a flat cable with connectors, which is included to the set.

The pre-amp contains three main modules VOLUME, BLEND, BASS /TREBLE with dual push-pull potentiometer.
Two optional modules: Passive TONE/MIDDLE and PUNCH can be use in any possible configuration or not at all.
The modules (Pre-amp and optional) are designed to be easily joined together by the flat connecting wire (No soldering required). The sequence of connected modules is unrestricted.

The Taurus pre-amps can be powered ether by one or two 9V batteries. The two battery option (18V) is recommended for greatest dynamic range.

On board pre-amps could work on low battery power (3-4V) but would compromise sound quality by its loss of dynamic and consequently, distortion. To prevent this, Taurus pre-amps are built with a Low Battery LED Power Indicator, signaling replacement time.

Taurus recommends installing the LED indicator on the back cover plate of the instrument, eliminating the need for additional connections and adapters. Simply secure the LED (3mm diameter) in the designated opening of the back cover.

The preamp can operate in two modes, passive and active. All controls work in active mode, and VOLUME, BLEND, Passive TONE controls work in passive mode. The operating mode switch is integrated with the VOLUME potentiometer.

In general, the preamps in TM and TM-Integral versions are the same. The sound is the same. The difference is the use of push-pull or stacked potentiometers for tone control in the Integral version. This version is also equipped with passive tone control.
